Teachers at Teller Elementary realized that they had hungry students in their classrooms and started a “Backpack for Families” program, which allowed them to feed 40 people each week.
Starting in the 2023-2024 school year, this program transitioned to Teller Pantry Friends, where a pantry is available to all current Teller students, their families as well as staff multiple days per week (see our hours). The mission of Teller Pantry Friends is to ensure all current Teller families have access to living essentials. To achieve this, we ensure the pantry is stocked with a variety of nutritious food, both fresh and non-perishable, as well as personal hygiene and home care items.
Teller Pantry Friends always needs your help. You can help in many ways, including:
- Volunteering at Food Bank of the Rockies.
- Donating to the Teller Pantry Friends fund. $20 = 330 lbs of food for Teller students.
- Bringing canned goods, plastic jars, and any other items on our list of items of most need.
- Volunteering at the Pantry at Teller Elementary
